Lesson 215. Brain, Mind and Soul

To some people, brain and mind might seem to be synonymous.  Soul seems to be something different-something on another plane of existence.  However, we tend to view this with a different perspective.

Brain is a bodily organ.  It is made up of living cells call neurons.  Brain is like a computer.  It needs software or programming to give it direction, and data such as thoughts, vision, hearing, smells and so forth, to process.

Mind, on the other hand, has no physical existence.  Mind is a collection of thoughts, perceptions and memories as well as the ability or programming (like a computer program) to consider and operate upon them.  Minded is what the brain does.  But clearly, mind and brain are separate.  Brain is physical.  Mind is logic, non physical and ethereal.  I can see the brain.  The mind is invisible.

That brings us to soul.  The soul, too, is invisable.  It too, apparently, has memory, thoughts, feelings and so forth.  Many believe it is eternal and existed before birth and survives the deaf of the body.  This makes soul more similar to mine than mind is to bring.

Consider this.

Mind and soul are, in fact, the same thing.  The brain is simply a biological machine which the mind/soul inhabits and operate until the body machine stops functioning and dies.  But like a computer program, the soul, if backed up like a computer program, or installed on another machine-perhaps running in parallel while the body lives, is in fact, immortal.

End of less and quiz.
1.  What is the difference between brain and mind?
2.  How are mind and soul similar or identical?

3.  How does the soul survived death of the body?
