Lesson 225. Out of body experience

What is an out of body experience?  It is a condition where our sensory perceptions are received by mental means, not using our sense organs, but rather by direct mental perception.

There are three conditions where this occurs.  The first is by intentional choice.  The second happens when sleeping, when the conscious mind is at rest.  These two modes are also frequently referred to as astral projection.  The third mode occurs when the human body is near death, and the mind/soul temporarily leaves the body, but returns prior to death.  This is often referred to as a near death experience.  Mechanically, all three function the same way.  It is merely the action which initiates the experience which differentiates them.
