Lesson 240. Body and mind communication.

We have established that we are beings consisting of physical body a non-physical mind, spirit or soul.  The body is a machine like an automobile.  The mind is like its driver, telling it where to go, when and how fast.  The body is a machine controlled by the mind.  The body is also the mechanism by which we communicate and interact with other living people.

What happens after the death of the body?  Can the surviving mind still communicate with the living?  Does this happen?  Why?

Those who have passed often attempt to communicate with those who are still physical beings here on earth.  However, those here on earth frequently ignore, or do not believe the reality of the messages.  This is a result of modern cultural conditioning and is unfortunate because these messages are intended to help us navigate this physical worldly existence.  These messages can be extremely helpful if we learn to listen.  Why humanity has ceased to listen is an unfortunate cultural phenomenon.

Case study.

David (not his real name) was a young boy, at home after school.  His mother was a nurse and typically did not arrive home until a couple of hours after David.  One afternoon David was home after school.  Amazingly, a bird flew into and collided with David’s front picture window.  Before he could go out and check on the bird, it flew away.  Moments later, the telephone rang.  It was David’s Uncle John.  John asked if David’s mother was home.  David told him no, but that he would give her the message that his grandmother passed as soon as she arrived.  John was amazed and wanted to know who told David what had happened.  David told John no one had told him, that he just knew.

David’s grandmother had often lived with them.  She would come and go.  One morning, David got up for school and started getting dressed.  When he walked back into his bedroom, his grandmother was sitting on the edge of the bed, having a conversation with him.  David was having some challenges in life.  He discuss them with his grandmother.  She gave him some sound advice, which he followed.  Then he remembered that his grandmother had passed!  He turned to look at her, but she was gone.  This

Analysis.

Such an experience, while uncommon for children as old as David, is quite common in the younger children, especially because they do not necessarily understand death.  However, they are conditioned by their elders, that such experiences are nothing but their mind playing tricks on them.  They become, therefore, culturally conditioned to ignore these experiences.
